For those looking to get the adrenaline pumping
with a little more power, Packer Country’s is a snowmobiler’s
paradise. Whether cruising across the open farmlands or enjoying
the scenery while cruising along the Lake Michigan shoreline,
riders can get up to date trail conditions and trail maps by
calling the Brown County Snowmobile Alliance (920/448-4466),
Kewaunee County Snowmobiling (920/388-7199) and Manitowoc County
Snowmobile Trails (920/758-7669).
Children
of all ages fill the air with laughter during a day of snowtubing
down the Packer Country hills. Open weekends all winter long,
the Winter Sports Complex (920/388-0444) in Kewaunee thrills
young and old alike with five snowtubing chutes, each more
than 500 feet long. And the fun doesn’t stop when you
reach the bottom. Simply grab a hold of the towrope and enjoy
the ride back to the top of the 150-foot high hill. Snow lovers
in Green Bay can head over to the Triangle Sports Area (920/448-3365)
for a day of fun on the 350-foot long tubing runs.
Winter in Packer Country isn’t all
about the outdoors though of course. From Broadway shows to
the cheer of the crowds, there are plenty of ways to heat up
the winter days and nights. The arts come to life as touring
companies take to the stage at the Weidner
Center for the Performing Arts (920/465-2217) in a
display of spectacular costumes, song and dance. Winter highlights
include Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance (January
3-5), Spider-Man? Live! (January 23-26) and Disney’s
Beauty and the Beast (February 11-16).
Sports
fans can cheer on the home team as Green
