Q: “What is
the CVB?”
A: The Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau is the liaison between potential visitors
to the area and the businesses that will host them. We are
an information clearinghouse, convention management consultant
and tourism promotion organization for our area. The CVB is
a catalyst for tourism/economic development.
Q: “How do
I benefit by supporting the CVB as a partner?”
A: If you are directly involved
in the hospitality industry, you are informed of convention,
sporting tournament and event leads and visitors interested
in the Greater Green Bay area. We promote your business, attraction,
restaurant or festival in brochures, which are displayed in
85+ rack around the region, along the Interstate, and given
to convention delegates and other groups. If your business
is indirectly related to the hospitality industry (banking,
insurance, contractor, retailer, service provider, etc.) you
still benefit from visitor spending! A strong hospitality
industry helps promote a strong economy and sustain quality
of life for residents.
Q: How is the Greater Green Bay CVB different from the Chamber of Commerce?
A: Our missions are different.
The CVB’s mission is to bring people here to visit,
supply new revenue to tourist related businesses and leave
here with a positive impression of the area to encourage their
return in the future. Our goal is to put “heads in beds.”
The Chamber’s mission is to bring people to Green Bay
to live, increase and expand businesses here, and improve
the quality of life.
Q: What are the benefits
of investing in the Greater Green Bay CVB?
A: TEAMmates receive
exclusive 10-25% discount rates on advertising and other CVB
programs, sales leads, priority mentions and opportunities,
and seasonal opportunities to promote your business. (See TEAM Advantage Benefits)
Q: What kind of
companies are TEAMmates of the CVB?
A: Organizations that benefit
from monies generated by conventions, sporting tournaments
and leisure visitors: restaurants, hotels, shops, campgrounds,
museums, attractions, sports teams and venues, transportation
companies, event planners specializing in the meetings industry,
tour companies and convention services related businesses
like speakers and audio visual companies.
Q: Will my business
grow as a result of my partnership with the Greater Green Bay CVB?
A: We certainly hope so….but
that really depends on you! Can you make time to come to the
networking functions and education sessions? Can you make
time to use the sales leads the CVB provides? Can you prepare
special promotional literature to reach this market? Can you
respond immediately to the needs and inquiries of the client
base within the hospitality industry? We will provide you
with opportunities to grow; it is up to you to take advantage
of those opportunities.
Q: Will the Greater Green Bay CVB send my brochure to visitors or clients who will
call requesting information?
A: Definitely. While the annual
Visitor Guide is our official fulfillment publication, we
will enclose brochures based on each individual visitor request.
We also stock our visitor information center at the Brown
County Veterans Memorial Complex.
Q: Can the Greater Green Bay CVB get my brochure into the convention delegates’
packets?
A: Yes, but the meeting planner
ultimately decides which information will be included in their
delegates’ packets.
Q: Will I receive
a list of each convention’s delegates and exhibitors?
A: No. That is proprietary information
provided only by the meeting planner.
