Bay Area Mystery Tour
It's not a mystery to us why the Green Bay area is special,

stroll along the Crescent Beach Boardwalk and tour St. Agnes-By-The-Lake
Episcopal Church (1891)

Itinerary #8 - Czech
it Out! A Czech Heritage Tour
In the mid 1800s, millions of European settlers arrived in
America and many nationalities settled along the Lake Michigan
shoreline. Many of these settlers came from what is now the
Republic of Czechoslovakia. You will learn about how and where
they settled, their unique heritage, their homes, farms, churches,
traditions, and food.
- 8:00 a.m. Tour guide meets you at hotel
- 8:30 a.m. Arrive at St. Lawrence Church in Stangelsville.
See one of the most beautiful and historic churches - on
the National Register of Historic Places.
- 9:30 a.m. Visit an old Czech farmstead that has been readapted
to house Alpacas, and a wool crafts and soap-making business.
- 10:30 a.m. Taste the finest in cheese, then off to a three
generation Old World meat market (please bring coolers if
purchasing cheese or meat).
- 11:15 a.m. Tour the scenic glaciated landscape these hearty
immigrants called home.
- 12:00 noon Eat an authentic Bohemian lunch at a historic
restaurant and dance hall.
- 1:00 p.m. Visit an Old World bakery and taste the finest
in Czech bakery, including Kolaches.
- 2:00 p.m. Visit a Czech community featuring an 1880 General
Store and Victorian Home which now houses a historic store
and Bed & Breakfast.
- 3:30 p.m. Arrive back at your hotel.
Itinerary #9 - The
Evolution of Agriculture
For thousands of years the Native Americans living in Northeastern
Wisconsin survived living with nature and the fruits of the
land. Over time, they learned to cultivate and harvest from
the land to provide for their year round survival. The early
pioneers came and harvested the forests and tilled new land,
planting crops and raising livestock that they brought with
them from their native lands. Since that time, agriculture
has, and continues to go through significant changes and adaptation.
Those changes are, not only continuing,
but are ever increasing as our rural areas are utilizing new,
and not so new technology in farming practices. This tour
will take you through some of the most unique and diversified
agricultural area of Wisconsin. You will discover new and
not-so-new four and two legged animals that have been introduced,
or reintroduced to Northeast Wisconsin. Bring plenty of film,
the ever-changing landscape will provide many photo opportunities.
- 8:00 a.m. Tour guide meets you at hotel
- 8:30 a.m. Travel through picturesque and historic rural
landscapes and learn about our earliest history
- 9:00 a.m. Visit the Dana Farm Recreation area along the
Kewaunee River Valley and learn about Wisconsin's first
settlers
- 10:00 a.m. Tour a historic 1800 Czech Farmstead; learn
about spinning, weaving, soap making and more
- 11:00 a.m. Explore the history of the American Bison,
as you ride a wagon through the fields of these magnificent
beasts.
- 12:00 noon Lunch at one of the great restaurants in Packer
Country
- 1:00 p.m. Visit a Cheese Factory, Old World Meat Market
and Ethnic Bakery (please bring coolers if purchasing cheese
or meat)
- 2:30 p.m. Learn about dairy farming today, as you visit
a modern family dairy farm.
- 4:00 p.m. Arrive back at your hotel to start your evening
Itinerary #10 - Tour
Oneida Nation of Wisconsin
"Preserving our past, sharing our future" - the
Oneida Nation tour provides information and educates our visitors
on the heritage, culture and economic growth of the Oneida
Tribe. All tours can be tailored to your individual or group
needs.
Points of interest include, but are not
limited to: the Norbert Hill Center, Tribal Headquarters,
Little Bear Development Center, Tsyunhehkwa, our organic farm
and the Oneida Nation Elementary School - also known as the
"Turtle School" due to its rare architectural design.
Visit historic "Salt Pork Avenue" and learn of its
significance to Oneida history, Oneida Bingo & Casino
adjacent to the Oneida Nation's Radisson Hotel & Conference
Center.
Guided 3-hour tour fees are $150 (for step-on
guide), individual tour is $15 per person. A tour of the Oneida
Reservation would not be complete without a stop and walk
through the Oneida Nation Museum at an additional fee.
