It’s Hunting Season – Shopping Season, Too!

Green Bay, WI – As hunters head to the woods, it’s a great time for their spouses to embark on adventures of their own. For many hunting widows, what could be better than a shopping getaway in Packer Country?
“While your spouse is on their hunting adventure, why not plan a trip of your own,” said Katie Green, Director of Marketing for Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “As a regional shopping destination, the Packer Country area has many shopping options as well as activities and attractions that add something special to the visit.”
Simon Bay Park Square in Ashwaubenon is often the starting point for a Packer Country shopping excursion. With more than 90 stores and seven eateries, Bay Park Square provides a one-stop shopping experience with everything from small specialty stores to the main anchors...Younkers, Kohl’s, Elder-Beerman and ShopKo.
Smaller shopping centers in the Green Bay area include: East Town Mall, Historic Broadway District, Downtown De Pere, Green Bay Plaza and Glendale Crossing.
“Unique specialty stores and shops also add to the attraction of Packer Country,” Green said. “The area is home to some wonderful small shops that offer distinctive gift items and a lot more.
A sampling of the unique specialty shops includes: the Flying Pig, Tina Marie’s Boutique, Good Tidings Gifts, and von Stiehl Winery in Algoma; Alpaca Threads in Two Rivers; The Old School and Grandma Susie’s Country Gift Shop in Mishicot; and the Artsy Crafter, Beernsten’s Candies, Trout Springs Winery and Nala’s Fromagerie in the Greater Green Bay area.
“And after a day of shopping, why not leave a little time to sit back, relax and enjoy one of the area’s many dining options,” Green said. “You’ll find whatever you want, from gourmet cuisine to casual dining, and many different tastes to choose from.”
