No place to stay in Packer County on a game weekend – that’s a myth

Green Bay, WI – It’s a common perception…every hotel and motel room is filled throughout Packer Country when the Packers have a home game at Lambeau Field. The reality is there are usually some rooms available…and Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau can provide some assistance.
“You hear the comment about lodging availability almost every home game weekend,” said Katie Green, director of marketing for Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “While most rooms are indeed booked when the Packers play a weekend game at Lambeau Field, we found that we are able to help find accommodations.”
Packer Country works with area hotels to keep a tab on available rooms. With more than 3,800 hotel rooms in the Green Bay metro area, as well as about 700 rooms in Packer Country communities like Two Rivers and Algoma, a call to the Visitor and Convention Bureau will quickly tell you if rooms are available for a specific game weekend.
“Calling here to Packer Country eliminates the need to call hotel after hotel to see if anything’s available,” Green said. “We’re happy to provide the assistance to help the hotels and visitors to the area, particularly the first-timers who may be overwhelmed by the impact a Packers’ game.”
Green offers one more piece of advice…”Call us as soon as possible. As it gets closer to game day, hotel options get more and more limited, particularly when there are other events in the community.”
Green also notes that many of the hotels have a two-night minimum during Packers weekends.
