Family Fun on a Budget in Packer Country

Green Bay, WI – When it comes to affordable family fun attractions, Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay certainly leads the way. But in Packer Country, it’s just one of many attractions that offer a fun family atmosphere without a lot of cost. Family friendly locations also include: the Wildlife Sanctuary, Northeastern Wisconsin (NEW) Zoo/Reforestation Camp, Lambeau Field, Heritage Hill State Historical Park and more.
“Bringing the kids along won’t cost an arm and a leg at these great places,” said Katie Green, Director of Marketing for Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “At 25¢ or 50¢ a ride, an entire family can have a lot of fun at Bay Beach Amusement Park and still have money left over to visit other attractions.”
- Bay Beach Amusement Park

Located on the bay of Green Bay, Bay Beach Amusement Park is the place to be for family fun during summertime. There’s no admission fee to the park, which has 16 different rides for all ages, two concession stands, volleyball courts, seven shelters, a live pony ring, a wading pool and more. The kids’ rides and the giant slide are 25¢ per ride…the rides for the teens and adults are 50¢ per ride.
- Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary
1660 East Shore Dr., Green Bay
Just across from Bay Beach Amusement Park, the Wildlife Sanctuary provides a glimpse at wildlife habitat without leaving the city. The 700 acre urban wildlife refuge is Green Bay’s largest park, providing adults and children opportunities to interact with wildlife, plants and other natural resources through environmental education and recreation. Admission is free.

A visit to the “hallowed grounds” is something the entire family will enjoy. Daily stadium tours provide a first hand look at the renovated stadium, including a walk down the same tunnel that brings the Packers to the field each weekend. Meanwhile, the Packers Hall of Fame includes interactive exhibits and highlights the team’s rich 87 year history. Kids of all ages will also want to check out the game area at Curly’s Pub. Stadium tours are $11 for adults (ages 12-62); $10 for seniors (62+), $8 for children (6-11); and free admission for children five and younger. Admission to the Packers Hall of Fame is $10 for adults; $8 for seniors (62+); $6 for children (6-11); and free for children five and younger.
- NEW Zoo / Reforestation Camp
4378 Reforestation Rd., Suamico
The NEW Zoo and Brown County Reforestation Camp together function as a 1,560 acre recreational area with miles of trails, picnic areas, trout ponds and animal exhibits. The NEW Zoo is home to giraffes, wallabies, monkeys, lions, prairie dogs, trumpeter swans, goats, sheep and many other animals in a fun, learning environment. Admission to the NEW Zoo is $4 for adults (16+); $2 for seniors (62+) and children (2-15); and free for children two and younger.
- Heritage Hill State Historical Park
2640 S. Webster Ave., Allouez
The 40-acre living history museum features 26 historical buildings that show the development of Northeast Wisconsin. Special events throughout the summer often include children’s games, arts and crafts that fit the time periods depicted. At Heritage Hill, history and fun go together. Admission to the park is $10 for adults; $7 for seniors (62+); $6 for children (5-17); and free for children four and younger.
