Changes Make Packer Country Web Site More User-friendly
GREEN BAY, Wis.
April 7, 2006
Green Bay, WI – New, more user-friendly information about Packer Country is now readily available at your fingertips through the Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau Web site at www.packercountry.com.
“We’ve found that today’s travelers, and those who write and report about tourism, are technologically savvy and look more and more to the Internet for the information,” said Katie Green, Director of Marketing for Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “We’re excited to be able to provide a new and improved Events Calendar, our latest Visitor’s Guide in a virtual format and the new CleanPix service, which provides event and attraction photos for reporters and travel writers.”
The reformatted Events Calendar allows users to search for events by the month or by a special date range. Users can also view calendar events based on a keyword search. “The new calendar is very easy to use and gives visitors a number of options for finding events to fit their vacation schedule or searching for events that fit their interests,” Green said. “With everything happening in the area, the new options make it so much easier for people to find exactly what they’re looking for.”
Green says the new virtual Visitor’s Guide gives on-line visitors the opportunity to “page” through the information just as if they have the printed book in front of them. “We’ve actually had our Visitor’s Guide on our Web site for a number of years, but just as a static PDF file,” Green said. “The new virtual guide makes each page jump out at the reader and gives them the option of going to a specific page without scrolling through a long document.”
Green also notes that it’s much easier to tell the story of Packer Country with great photos of the events and attractions. That’s the idea behind CleanPix, a new service from Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “With CleanPix we can make our digital images available to media outlets and travel writers who are reporting on an event or development in Packer Country,” Green said. “The service provides immediate access to our photos, logos and other information, and offers it in a variety of formats to meet the individual outlet’s or writer’s requirements.”
