New Visitor's Guide Has It All for Packer Country Visitors

GREEN BAY, Wis.
March 9, 2006

Green Bay, WI – From the Rogers Street Fishing Village to Bay Beach Amusement Park to the von Stiehl Winery to the Lambeau Field Atrium, the latest information on Packer Country is right at your fingertips with the 2006 Packer Country Visitor’s Guide. The new, 68-page, full-color magazine highlights attractions, events and lodging options for Greater Green Bay, the Oneida Nation, Algoma, Kewaunee, Mishicot and Two Rivers.

“Visitors to the area will find tons of helpful information for planning a visit to the area,” said Katie Green, Director of Marketing for the Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “There are separate sections highlighting each community, a comprehensive list of events in 2006 and important information to help make a trip to Packer Country something special.”

The visitor’s guide includes:

  • Listings of more than 200 festivals and events
  • More than 155 points of interest
  • A list of more than 50 places to stay during a
    Packer Country visit

Packer Country is obviously the place to be to experience the history and traditions of the Green Bay Packers. But the area’s rich history also comes alive at Heritage Hill State Historical Park, Hazelwood Historic Museum, Historic Rogers Street Fishing Village, the Oneida Nation Museum and the National Railroad Museum.

The area also features the Oneida Casino, Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, the Meyer Theatre and the Resch Center. In addition to Packers football, there’s also University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s NCAA Division I college basketball, Green Bay Blizzard arena football and Green Bay Gamblers Junior A hockey.

“Packer Country certainly has some major league attractions,” Green said. “You’ll find many, many options and friendly people to guide you along the way.”
