GREEN BAY, Wis.
January 27, 2006

Green Bay , WI – From boating to golf to hunting and fishing…the Brown County Veterans Memorial Complex in Green Bay will help you get ready for Spring and Summer fun in the weeks ahead.

“There’s quite a line-up of shows and demonstrations for outdoors enthusiasts as we look to say goodbye to winter,” said Katie Green, Director of Marketing for Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “With the mild winter weather we experienced in January, there’s already been a lot of talk about hitting the outdoors.”

Green says outdoors enthusiasts will want to check out the upcoming shows:

  • 49th Annual WBAY Boat Show – February 17-19, 2006 at the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena and Shopko Hall. Wisconsin’s longest-running boat show features two buildings filled with hundreds of boats, personal watercraft, marinas, docks, ski equipment and more. Demonstrations focus on fishing, boating safety, GPS systems and more.
  • Wisconsin Deer Classic and Hunting Expo – February 24-26 at Shopko Hall. One of the premier hunting shows in the country, the Wisconsin Deer Classic features more than 100 exhibits and attractions related to whitetail, elk, and turkey hunting. The expo covers all types of hunting, from waterfowl to bear hunting.
  • 2nd Annual Greater Green Bay Golf & Summer Sports Expo – March 10-12, 2006 at Shopko Hall. Get into the swing of things with the latest equipment, training aids and tips. Learn from the experts and enjoy hands-on demonstrations as you prepare to hit the links.
  • Northeast Wisconsin Sport Fishing Show – March 3-5, 2006 at Shopko Hall. Fishing tackle, techniques and tips come together in one of the top sport shows in Wisconsin. You’ll hear from a number of experts including: Tony Grant, Mark Fisher, Jon Piette, Bill Diedrich and Mike Mladenik.

“Packer Country offers tremendous outdoor recreation opportunities,” Green said. “Now is the time to get ready for your Spring and Summer hobbies.”
