Packer Country VCB Earns Coveted ADMO Designation
GREEN BAY, Wis.
December 8, 2005
Green Bay, WI – After an extensive review of its policies, practices and related organization procedures by The Institute for Convention & Visitors Bureau Accreditation (ICVBA), the Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau has been designated an Accredited Destination Management Organization (ADMO). The Packer Country VCB is currently one of nine organizations in the country that has successfully completed the accreditation process.
To receive the ADMO designation, the Packer Country VCB was called upon to demonstrate professionalism, organization development and expertise in eleven compulsory CVB standards.
The ICVBA used a combination of document and collateral review, infrastructure evaluation, on-site visitation and collaborative communication to assign a numerical rating to the Packer Country VCB in these compulsory standards. To obtain accreditation, a pre-determined rating threshold must be met.
With the ADMO designation, Packer Country VCB is justified in claiming status as a leader in the destination management industry. According to Diana Lawson, ICVBA President, “earning the ADMO designation provides enhanced credibility, demonstrates proven excellence, and confers broader recognition and accountability for the Packer Country VCB. Visitors, constituents and colleagues all know that when they contact the Packer Country VCB, they are dealing with the best in the industry. That enhances the image of the entire community in the eyes of the leisure, group and business traveler.”
Kari Sliva, President/CEO of the Packer Country VCB, is justifiably proud to earn the ADMO designation. “This accreditation acknowledges that our bureau is adhering to the highest standards and by doing so, we are taking care of our customers as well as responding to the needs of the tourism industry. Our marketing is research-based, our sales strategies are innovative, and we are caring for our guests by continuing to upgrade our services. That's what our industry is all about. It's quite an honor to earn this designation among our peers in the industry, and we're elated to be the first convention and visitor bureau in Wisconsin to receive it.”
The ICVBA was formed in 2000 with the mission of increasing the overall awareness and standard of professionalism in convention and visitors bureau organizations in order to enhance credibility through accountability and best service among its varied publics and within the destination management profession.
