Packer Country’s On-line Auction Raises Funds for Hurricane Relief
Retreats for Relief collects nearly $1,200 for the American Red Cross

GREEN BAY, Wis.
November 11, 2005

Green Bay, WI – Area hotels and attractions teamed up with the Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau to raise nearly $1,200 for the hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Coast region. Various donated packages were put up for bid on e-Bay over the past month with all proceeds from Retreats for Relief going to the American Red Cross and its hurricane relief programs.

“We’re pleased with the results, knowing that every little bit helps in the relief efforts,” said Kari Sliva, President & CEO of Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureasu. “This was the first time we’ve ever attempted something like this and we learned a great deal from this new venture. We were just very happy to be able to use our existing resources to benefit those who need assistance.”

Participating in Retreats for Relief with Packer Country were: the Green Bay Packers, Hilton Garden Inn, Green Bay Super 8, Fox Hills Resort, Marty’s Boston Crab, Heritage Hill State Historical Park and the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
