Music & Entertainment for Everyone This Fall in Packer Country

GREEN BAY, Wis.

Green Bay, WI– A fantastic fall line-up of music, comedy and more is just ahead for residents and visitors in Packer Country. The musical styles range from Irish folk to New Orleans Jazz to American Blues to the classical compositions of Mozart and Brahms. Or sample everyday comedy, improvisational comedy or the comedy of Googlewhacking.

“It’s a great time to check out some of the tremendous entertainment that comes to Packer Country on a regular basis,” said Kari Sliva, President and CEO of Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau. “With the Weidner Center, the Meyer Theatre and other venues, there are a lot of great entertainment options on the fall schedule.”

  • Celtic Woman takes the stage at the Weidner Center on Thursday, October 20, 2005. This Irish phenomenon portrays the unique voices and styles of each of the women as soloists along with fantastic ensemble numbers, ranging from “Danny Boy” to “Ava Maria” to spellbinding original songs.
  • The comedy of Brian Regan will be featured at the Meyer Theatre on Thursday, October 20, 2005. A veteran of the Tonight Show, the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brian, Regan’s peculiar observations from things seemingly simple keep fans coming back time and again for his shows.
  • The Palace of Reifs Mills brings together German music and comedy with Herr Heinrich’s Rathskellar on October 21, 22, 23, 28 and 29.
  • The sounds of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra will fill the Weidner Center on Saturday, October 22, 2005. This 16-piece group, honors and brings to life the music of jazz masters like Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie.
  • Four Stand-Up Dads bring their comedic perspectives to the Meyer Theatre on Friday, October 28, 2005. Who thought changing diapers, sibling brawls, outlet malls, and pre-school graduation days could be so funny? It’s stand-up comedy for the whole family.
  • It’s improvisational comedy with Wayne Brady at the Weidner Center on Saturday, October 29, 2005. As part of the hit comedy series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and host of “The Wayne Brady Show,” Brady has become one of the best know and funniest comedic actors on TV. His live shows are a whirlwind of audience participation, music, improvisation and antics.
  • Nine time Grammy-winner Bonnie Raitt brings her blues guitar and sultry voice to Green Bay for a Thursday, November 3, 2005 performance at the Weidner Center. Raitt comes to Packer Country on the heels of the September release of her latest album Souls Alike.
  • Dave Gorman’s Googlewhack! Adventure stops at the Meyer Theatre November 9-12. Dave Gorman’s Googlewhack! Adventure, winner of the 2004 HBO U.S. Comedy Festival Jury Award, takes audiences on a journey to the wildest places on the World Wide Web.
  • The Green Bay Symphony Orchestra takes the spotlight at the Weidner Center on Saturday, November 12, 2005 with Classics 2 featuring baritone Dale Duesing. The performance will feature Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 in A Major, K. 201, Mahler’s Rückert Leider and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 in e minor.
