Packer Country Welcomes the Green Bay Duathlon
GREEN BAY, Wis.
September 6, 2005
Green Bay, WI– Packer Country will welcome more than 750 participants for the 2nd Annual Green Bay Duathlon, set for Sunday, October 2, 2005, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The duathlon is a run/bike/run event. The first leg is a 3.1 mile run, followed by a 31 mile bike ride. The final leg of the duathlon is a 1 mile run.
“This promises to be a very exciting event for participants and spectors,” said Kari Sliva, Packer Country Visitor & Convention Bureau President & CEO. “Participants will run through the heart of the Lambeau Field entertainment district and even circle the historic stadium. The bike leg will show off the beauty and color along the Fox River from Green Bay to Wrightstown.”
Entrants can participate in the Green Bay Duathlon as individuals or as 2 or 3 person relay teams. More than 750 people are expected to take part in the event which is coordinated by Midwest Sports Events.
“The organizers of the Green Bay Duathlon have done a wonderful job in creating a special event,” Sliva said. “The duathlon encompasses historic Lambeau Field, as well as the fall colors along the river. It should be an exciting event for the participants and for the spectators who take in key parts of the event like the start and the transition area.”
