GREEN
BAY, Wis. (July 15, 2005) – Packer
Country Visitor & Convention Bureau
has launched a new marketing campaign…“There
is No Off-season in Packer Country.”
The marketing campaign targets Wisconsin
residents and visitorsfrom selected areas
of Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois.
“We want to spread the word that
Packer Country is a year round destination
point for visitors,” said Kari Sliva,
President/CEO of Packer Country Visitor
& Convention Bureau. “There’s
no arguing that the Green Bay area is a
one-of-a-kind location when it comes to
professional football, but there’s
so much more for people to do and see. Packer
Country includes beautiful lakeshores, museums,
wildlife areas, performing arts, fun for
children of all ages, entertainment of all
kinds, and a lot more.”
Packer Country VCB is the regional tourism
organization for the Green Bay area, Oneida
Nation, Algoma, Kewaunee, Mishicot and Two
Rivers.
“A lot of people think of football
when they think of Packer Country,”
said Katie Green, Packer Country Director
of Marketing. “We want to be sure
that visitors and potential visitors understand
that this area of Wisconsin offers football
and a lot more. There are tremendous offerings
throughout the region, every day of the
year.”
The campaign features billboards (see below),
print ads in various travel/tourism publications,
Internet advertising and radio ads. Three
different radio ads are running statewide
on 72 radio stations. The ads direct travelers
to the Packer Country Web site at www.packercountry.com
when they can instantly access information
on special events and attractions in Packer
Country. Packercountry.com also offers "Hot
Hotel Deals" and "Value Getaway
Packages", featuring savings for travelers
on lodging and entertainment, allowing travelers
