New, Free Guide to Wisconsin’s Harbor Towns Now Available
GREEN BAY,
Wis.
July 31, 2003
A new guide for cruising
the shoreline communities of Wisconsin has just been published
and is now available free to the public. It showcases the “ports” side
of the Packer Country Regional Tourism Office slogan of “Sports
and Ports!”
The Wisconsin Harbor Towns Association has published a guidebook
of the ports along the Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and Green
Bay shorelines of Wisconsin.
The WHTA, a non-profit organization formed in 2000, is dedicated
to promoting visits to Wisconsin's harbor towns by cruise
ships, recreational boaters and land travelers. The 48-page
guidebook gives an overview of each port and the attractions
they have to offer, marina maps and docking information.
The harbor towns included in the guidebook are Racine, Kenosha,
Milwaukee, Port
Washington, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Two Rivers, Kewaunee, Algoma,
Sturgeon Bay and all of Door County’s harbors, Green
Bay, Oconto, Marinette, Port of Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield
and Superior.
To receive a free copy of the Wisconsin Harbor Towns guidebook,
just call the Packer Country Regional Tourism Office at (920)
405-1111, or toll-free at (888) 867-3342.
The guidebook was funded through a grant from the Wisconsin
Coastal Management Program and the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration, Office of Ocean and Coastal
Resource Management.
