Three Historic Ships Sail into Port of Green Bay

Public Tours and Excursions

Ahoy! Yet another
tall ship has joined the miniature fleet of historic ships
and festivities planned for Baylake Bank Tall Ship Tours,
July 25-27, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Leicht Park, in Downtown
Green Bay.
What a ship! The Larinda, is a modified replica of a 1767
Boston schooner. She is a unique sailing vessel, constructed
of recycled 100-year-old hard pine. Featured in publications
worldwide, Larinda has also starred in several documentaries
shown on national television. Awards include the 1997 Wooden
Boat Show and the 1998 Boston Antique and Classic Boat Show.
The Larinda joins the Pride of Baltimore II, the 154-foot
goodwill sailing ambassador for the State of Maryland, and
the Red Witch historic schooner—an excursion vessel.
Tickets for the Baylake Bank Tall Ship Tours are $4 adult,
$3 senior, $2 children ages 4-15, Free for children three
and under, and $10 for a family pass (Mom, Dad and children).
Tickets are available only at the gate July 25-27 for the
Pride of Baltimore II and Larinda tours. Tickets for the
Red Witch are sold separately (see below.)
3-hour Excursions on the Red Witch into the Bay of Green

For the more adventurous, the Red Witch will provide 3-hour
day sails into the Bay of Green Bay for the public during
the three-day event. A living tribute to US maritime history,
the Red Witch was built in the tradition of the vessels that
were the workhorses of America’s 19th-century transportation
system. True to her ancestors, her block and tackle, wooden
hull, and gaff rig capture the romance and adventure of sailing.

Red Witch excursion days/times are Friday, July 25, at
6:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m.,
and 6:30
p.m. Boarding time is one half-hour prior to sail. Hurry---seating
is limited to 42 passengers per cruise! Tickets are $40
adults, and $35 children 6-12. Children 5 and under are
not allowed.
No food or beverages allowed on the ship.

however, reservations are required, as the seating is limited
to 42 passengers per Coast Guard regulations, and tickets
are on
sale to the general public.

Baylake Bank Tall Ship Tours, now in its third year of attracting
an estimated 10,000 visitors to Downtown Green Bay for the
three-day event, will feature historical interpreters from
Heritage Hill State Park, an exhibit of the USS Green Bay
at the Neville Public Museum adjacent to the grounds, a Navy
band, and concessions (provided by Titletown Brewery.)

**PHOTO OPPORTUNITY 2—Media are invited to sail on
the Pride of Baltimore II Saturday and Sunday July 26 and
27 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. This is a special, private
cruise on the Pride not available to the general public,
so reservations are required in advance, as seating is limited
to 35 people.
***PHOTO OPPORTUNITY 3—The Opening Ceremony for Baylake
Bank Tall Ship Tours is Friday, July 25 at 9:00 a.m. at Leicht
Park Downtown Green Bay. Local officials will be on hand
to kick off the festivities and the Navy will make a special
presentation to Mayor Jim Schmitt.
